From Learn to Play to the Panthers Developmental League, Panthers IceDen has everything a young hockey player needs to get started or continue on their journey.
Learn to Skate
Want to become a Hockey Player? Register for Snowplow Sam 1 (ages 3 years - 6 years), Basic 1 (ages 7 years - 17 years) or Adult (18+ years).
Skaters will be placed into the appropriate class for their skill level and will advance through the Basic skating levels into the Hockey 1-2 curriculum.
This is the path to Learn to Play and Hockey Academy.
Learn to Play
Learn to Play is an introductory hockey program hosted by the Florida Panthers in conjunction with the NHL, the NHL Players Association and USA Hockey. Participants receive six weeks of on-ice training with USA Hockey certified coaches.
No minimum experience is required to participate in this program. However, some previous on-ice experience such as a Learn to Skate class series is highly recommended. Each participant will be custom fitted for a full set of hockey equipment to use during the program and beyond.
Panthers Hockey Academy
Panthers Hockey Academy bridges the gap between Learn to Skate, Panthers Learn to Play and the Panthers Development League. Instruction focuses on skating, puck handling, passing and shooting.
Prerequisite for enrolling in Panthers Hockey Academy is successful completion of Learn to Skate or evaluation by Panthers hockey staff.

Panthers Development League (PDL - Youth Rec League)
The purpose of the Florida Panthers Development League is to create a learning atmosphere which allows players to improve their skills and grow as a player on and off the ice.
Panthers IceDen coaches will implement the American Development Model (ADM) to maximize age-based skill development. Our long-term approach allows us to grow the game starting with the 8U age levels and create an ideal bridge between recreation, high school, and travel hockey.
This league will forge a path for opportunities and success for ALL hockey players. Girls only league available. Each player also must have a current USA Hockey Certification number which the player must have prior to registration.

Florida Junior Panthers
The Florida Junior Panthers, as representatives of the Florida Panthers, believe strongly as an organization in the values of teamwork, sportsmanship and leadership through example. The program’s overall goal of player development both on and off the ice relies heavily on our ability to create and maintain a safe, fun and positive environment for our players.
With ages ranging from 7-16 and divisions including A and AA, the travel hockey season runs from August to March with annual try outs in May. The season includes team practice 3 times a week and travel games on the weekend at the Panthers IceDen and other rinks in the state of Florida. Teams also participate in travel tournaments around the country.
